	The scene is of the historic Flume’s End Bed & Breakfast Inn, located at 317 Pine Street, in the historic gold mining town of Nevada City, California, immediately after the winter’s initial snowfall. I was inspired to paint this landmark while spending a restful evening at the inn with my wife Chris. Before we enjoyed the warmth within our secluded creek-side room on the ground floor, we decided to hike the angelically peaceful grounds surrounding the old four-story building. Flume's End rests on a picturesque hillside sloping down to the tranquil, bubbling waterfalls of Gold Run Creek meandering through wooded acres of natural beauty. The Inn’s foundation is firmly established upon the bedrock in the deep ravine. The Inn’s narrow structure ascends two levels nestled against the steep bank along Pine Street, before ascending another two stories above the street.

	One can easily discover how the Inn became known as “Flume’s End”. A wooden flume, supported by seven 14-foot high concrete towers, spans over 70 yards across the ravine, and then abruptly ends when it merges at the intersection of Pine Street and the left corner of the Inn’s entryway. The historic flume brought Sierra mountain waters of good fortune rushing to gold miners during the 1800's.

	After our stay at Flumes End and while working on this painting, I have often thought about the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ found in Revelation, verses 21:5-6:

“Behold, I am making all things new…. It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.”

          The Bible clearly states that those who lack God's peace and purpose in this life need to be introduced to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only giver of "Eternal Life". They have a spiritual thirst within them crying out to be filled with His presence.

We hope you enjoy your print. As you view it, we ask you to remember us in prayer as we minister to those who have yet to begin a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that all who look upon this print will come to know our Lord Jesus more fully. May they dwell in Him, experience His peace, and gratefully enjoy His presence.

            With grateful Love in the Lord Jesus Christ who is the “beginning and the end” - the Eternal God, offering to all the free gift of Eternal Life;

Nick Vogt
