The observer of this painting will navigate the landscape surrounding the historic Flume’s End Bed & Breakfast Inn, nestled in along side Gold Run Creek. I was inspired to paint this landmark while my wife Chris and I spent a restful evening at the inn, which is located only one block from the heart of the historic gold mining town of Nevada City, California. Before we enjoyed the warmth within our secluded creek-side room on the ground floor, we decided to hike the angelically peaceful grounds neighboring the old four-story building. Flume's End rests on a picturesque hillside sloping down to the tranquil, bubbling waterfalls of the creek meandering through wooded acres of natural beauty. The Inn’s foundation is firmly established upon the bedrock in the deep ravine. The Inn’s narrow structure ascends two levels sheltered against the steep bank along Pine Street, before ascending another two stories above the street.

One can easily discover how the Inn became known as “Flume’s End”. A wooden flume, supported by seven 14-foot high concrete towers, spans over 70 yards across the ravine, and then abruptly ends when it merges at the intersection of Pine Street and the left corner of the Inn’s entryway. The historic flume brought Sierra mountain waters of good fortune rushing to gold miners during the 1800's.

After having captured within this painting the soothing, peaceful sounds of the waterfalls beside Flumes End, I have often thought about the perpetual words of Our Lord Jesus Christ found in John’s Gospel, Chapter 4, and verse 14:
“…Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
The Bible clearly states that those who lack God's peace and hope in this life need to be introduced to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only One able to cleanse the mind, soul, and spirit. Those who thirst from within may draw upon Him to be filled with His presence and to receive "Eternal Life".

We hope you enjoy your print. As you view it, we ask you to remember us in prayer as we minister to those who have yet to begin a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that all who look upon this print will come to know our Lord Jesus more fully. May they reside in Him, experience His peace, and gratefully enjoy His presence.

With grateful Love in the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Eternal Prince of Peace, offering to all the free gift of Living Water for both now and forevermore!
