Victorias City Education Seminar: Our team spent another two days conducting a Coaches Education Seminar for approximately 60 teachers and coaches at the Victorias City. Jason shared his testimony of how Christ changed his life and Nick shared a message from Romans 6:23. During the closing invitation at the end of the seminar, sixteen coaches invited the Lord Jesus into their lives - Praise God! Pastor Bravo and a lay worker, Ramon Ko, will begin follow-up with these new believers shortly.
Ramon Ko also has a new ministry of encouraging over 34 pastors in the areas of Victorias, Manapla, and E.B. Magalona. These pastors, many of who are quite young and of limited formal education, are in much need of Bible study materials. In addition, Ramon's desire is for us to bring some USA pastors to this area next year for the purpose of conducting a training conference for these Filipino pastors in subjects of "Preaching", "Discipling Lay Leaders", "Initiating Cell Group Ministries", "Beginning a Youth Ministry", "Church Administration", and several other topics. Please begin to pray that we may soon begin to assemble a team of USA Pastors to lead the training at next year's conference.
City of Escalante Track & Field Training Center Construction & Learn-by-Doing Athletic Clinic: We traveled over 2 hours to Escalante for a Two-day evangelistic track seminar sponsored by the mayor of the city. We conducted sports Ministry seminars for 62 Track & Field Coaches. In addition, we continued construction with city workers of the Indoor Pole Vault and Track & Field Training Center, which will be used for year-round sports evangelism. We had tremendous support from the city mayor, Santiago ‘Maymay’ Barcelona, Jr.
Radio Broadcast Ministry On the second morning in Escalante, Mayor Barcelona invited Nick to speak on the city’s weekly Radio broadcast for the purpose of sharing the goals and objectives of the track & field training center we were constructing. The Lord Jesus was exalted, and after Nick finished his portion of the broadcast, Mayor Barcelona announced that Jesus Christ would be at the center of all future City Council activities and business meetings. |

Church Preaching/Sharing
During both Sundays of the tour, we divided our team into groups and preached and shared testimonies at four church services throughout the city. Lifegate Community Baptist Church has over 100 members serving the Lord in various ministries throughout the city. What a blessing to worship with such committed Brothers and Sisters!!! Another highlight was our visit to the Christ’s Fishers of Men Baptist Church that Pastor Unilbert Aguilar conducts in the “squatter’s” area. Over 80 people come every week to worship at the covered area attached to Pastor Bert’s house. In addition, both Pastor Bravo’s church and Pastor Bert’s church conduct a children’s ministry and food distribution program for families within the slum areas.
On June 30 we were also privileged to attend the first year anniversary of the Lifegate Baptist Church in Toboso, a coastal community north of Escalnate. (You may recall that Pastor Bravo planted this church last year while we were there and that the sports seminar we held at that time with over 200 educators in attendance boosted the growth of the church). We enjoyed visiting these dedicated believers again. Nick preached a message of encouragement from I Peter, Chapter 2 during the celebration. The Rosmarino Children’s Home (Orphanage) Ministry In the early part of our trip, we took Mike Weber to the Calvary Orphanage to minister throughout the remaining days of our tour. During our preparation meeting with Terri (a wonderful American lady who has worked at the orphange for more than seven years), our entire team enjoyed a visit with over 113 beautiful, happy, joyful children.
We were really impressed by how easily it was to become a part of the Rosmarino Family (Pastor Joe and wife, Billie, who run the orphanage). The Rosmarinos are the "parents" of this very special "Christian" home.
The kids (even the babies and Toddlers) developed very close relationships with Mike; and as it worked out, the Rosmarinos were very much in need of the extra help at this time because they had not yet returned from furlough in the USA and some of the teachers of the school had to be gone.
For those of you who didn't know, part of the orphanage consists of four classrooms in a separate structure where four full-time Christian teachers conduct an excellent educational program for pre-school through high school-aged kids. Mike Weber found himself serving in the role of teacher, doing crafts, and outdoor activities - and he loved every minute of it!
When Mike left the orphanage there were a lot of good-bye tears in the eyes of our team. It was very difficult for us to leave these 113 beautiful kids that Mike had been ministering to for several days.
Joe and Billie have given Christian Team Ministries an open invitation to come back to their "home" any time that we are in the Philippines. Our CTM Board Members have set up a designated fund specifically for the Orphanage. Please let me know if you are interested in supporting God's work in this wonderful ministry through either prayer or financial investment Continued (Click here)
