Thanks for Helping Our CTM Ministry Team Go to the Philippines

83 Trust Christ as Savior

Thank you for your prayer and investment for us during our Ministry Tour to Negros Occidental, Philippines.  Pastor Renato Bravo, who hosted our stay, continually reminded us that they (local evangelists), alone, could not have reached many of the people that our team was touching - just because of the fact that we were Americans.  By God's grace, 83 people decided to trust Christ as their Lord and Savior! Sports ministry truly is an essential and effective vehicle by which the Gospel can be communicated - Praise Him!  Please continue to pray for Pastor Bravo and his team of follow-up workers because they have already begun contacting these new believers and have even begun discipleship meetings at several locations.

Please be assured that you've made a great impact in the lives of everyone associated with this tour - not just those of our ministry team, but also in the lives of more than 83 Filipinos who have believed on Christ!  We appreciate your special prayers for us - even at this moment - as well as your faithful financial investment, both of which enable us to continue our work together in presenting the Lord Jesus Christ to lost people both here in our country and through out the world.  May God bless you!

Gratefully Yours,

Nick Vogt

CTM Philippine Ministry Tour Report

Ministry Team Orientation

Visit with Pastor Bravo & Members of Lifegate Community Baptist Church:

Our mission team members were Nick Vogt, Mike Weber, Todd Nunan, and Jason Pink.  We had the entire team share testimonies at Lifegate Community Baptist Church (Pastor Bravo's church).  It was very encouraging to see how all of the materials we have sent to the church have been well taken care of and put to great use.  All the songbooks were covered in vinyl.  Hundreds of other books were well stocked in their library, the 25 red choir robes were a tremendous blessing -- Even the wooden crates had been rebuilt into cabinets, bulletin boards, furniture, and benches.

High School Evangelism at Handumanan Project:

We were really blessed during our first high school room-to-room evangelism ministry near a “squatter’s” area.  The children from the Handumanan Relocation Project live in the squatter’s area.  There are 3,800 of them attending the high school there (over 65 students/classroom).  We shared our testimonies with five classes, and many students indicated that they had begun a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for these students and pray for Pastor Bravo, Pastor Aguilar, and their campus workers as they follow up with them in weekly discipleship meetings.

Property Purchased for Campsite & Conference Retreat Center

Immediately after our meeting with the campsite project committee of Lifegate Community Baptist Church, the paperwork for the property transfer was begun.  And just prior to returning to the USA, we purchased the campsite property, located in the mountains of Don Salvador Benedicto.  When completed, this facility will be used for youth evangelism camps, church services, conferences, and pastor’s retreats.  Please pray for us as we begin raising another $3,000 to begin construction of the initial buildings and restrooms for the camp (Please contact us if you would like to invest).

Athletic Seminar & Clinic Ministry

Our team also ministered in athletic seminars with the PE majors, teachers and coaches.  For part of each program we gave lectures. The other half of the schedule we conducted learn-by-doing workshops, covering each track & field event.  We find that this approach is best for breaking down cultural barriers and really getting to know each coach personally - thus producing credibility when we share the most important message of all, which is how one can be sure of eternal life with the Lord Jesus.

Sipalay City Evangelistic Coaches’ Seminar:

We traveled to Sipalay City, a coastal community over four hours south of Bacolod City, to conduct the area’s first evangelistic coaches seminar over a two-day period.  Pastor Arros, our host, was so excited because 15 coaches of more than 50 who attended the two-day clinic began a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ (and several others made re-commitments to Him) as a result of the event.  Please pray for effective follow-up of those who received new life in Christ Jesus.

High School Assembly Ministry:

During our time in Sipalay, we had the opportunity to share with the entire student body at a local high school near the city.  The Holy Spirit drew 28 new souls to a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ during our assembly program.  Pastor Arros is looking forward to discipling these students because the school is only a few blocks walking distance from his church and home.
